37 weeks and counting

We finally hit the 37 week landmark and baby Averi is officially full-term :) I had an appointment  on wednesday and we learned that my fluid levels are back up, baby's heart rate is great & my blood pressure is great. I'm quickly approaching week 38 and it is really starting to hit all of us how quickly 2 weeks goes by. February is going by quickly. Last weekend we made the trip over the mountains (with the Dr.'s approval) for three specific reasons. My sisters threw me a baby shower,  the Brad Paisley concert, and a maternity/family photo shoot. Bronson did have one very big meltdown (that Jeremy had to handle solo, sorry dear), but other than that the weekend was so fun and just what I've been needing.
There were seven of us preggos at my shower, only 6 pictured :) Left to right: Katie (HS friend) due march 22, Stacy (old church friend) due March 12, Me due March 4, Holly S (college friend) due Aug 3, Holly N (college friend) Due early May, Angela (old church friend) due mid March!! My friend Danielle was also at the shower and is Due August 5th.

and the side view :)

the cute mini cakes my sister made for the "Little Diva" themed shower for Miss Averi
Yummy food table, its hard to see but my sister made this adorable fruit and cheese assortment. My sisters are so creative!

One of the many cute games we played. This one was a memory matching game and the prizes were ring pops and candy necklaces. Another game we played required the players to melt a diamond shaped ice cube with a little baby inside. Whoever got their baby out the quickest won a prize :)

My sister found black and pink sixlets!! They are one of my favorite candies :) Plus she found boxes of sweethearts with "DIVA" printed on them. LOL. Pink raspberry punch was also available and it was delicious! :)
Jeremy's parents had 2 extra tickets to see Brad Paisley at the Tacoma Dome and we couldn't find any takers. Then I saw on a facebook status that our good friends from Grandview, Matt & Val were in Ellensburg picking up a horse trailer... so we thought we'd call them up and see if they wanted to drive a little further. These two are seriously up for anything and drove to North Bend where we picked them up and took them to the show with us! So random and so fun :) Thanks for coming guys.
And now onto the Maternity/Family photo session. My friend Stephanie has recently started up a photography business and offered to take belly pics of me which I gladly took her up on. The pictures turned out so beautiful and I can't wait to print and frame some. Thank you STEPH!! StephanieWoodworthPhotography.org

These were just a few of our favorites. When I get the CD  I will put up a few others.
Sunday was our last day in Seattle and after the photo shoot we just hung out with my parents and had a great salmon lunch. My sister Nikki came by and brought her kiddos which Bronson thoroughly enjoyed. He had stayed at Auntie Tisha's house the night before and got to spend all of Saturday evening playing with his older female cousins. When we picked him up Sunday morning he was busy making crafts at the craft table with his cousin Ashley (6 yrs old) He didn't really seem to even notice when we came in :) He LOVES his cousins. It makes me sad he can't see them on a regular basis but at least it makes his visits with them extra special.

If you lay on the floor, you are free game...
We had a great visit and like always, the weekend went by too quickly. Tuesday was Valentines Day and I have to say the sweetest thing in the world might be receiving a rose from your 2 yr old and hearing him say "Happy Valentine's Day Mommy" Thats all I need to feel the love from the two men in my life. So to show them a little love I made some confetti cupcakes with rainbow chip frosting. Nothing extravagant by any means, but it was just what we all needed. :)

And one last picture just cuz its cute...

Bronson and Jeremy cuddling on the sofa the other night. Bronson really does think the world of his daddy :)

Bed Rest... Is this for real??

So I had a doctor's appointment on Monday morning. We were so excited going into it because we were starting off the appointment with an ultra-sound and Bronson was with us so he was going to get to see his little sister for the first time. Since week 28 baby girl has been sitting breech but a week ago she woke me up in the middle of the night with some serious moving and I was convinced she put herself in the right position. So the ultra-sound verified she indeed is in the perfect position to come out the way we want her to...now lets just hope she stays that way! But her face was turned toward my spine and the tech was unable to get any face pictures, bummer :( After he finished all the measurements we headed over to see my Doctor and he informed us of a few things. First of all, I apparently have a short cervix. My cervix is thinning out as it should be, and maybe just a little faster than average but because of its short length, things could happen quicker than we want them to at 35 weeks. Also, baby is sitting very low and putting lots of pressure on my cervix, to a point where whenever I stand for more than 5 minutes I start getting Braxton Hicks contractions. They also discovered that my amniotic fluid levels are lower than they'd like them to be, giving some concern for a drop in baby's heart rate. So based on all the factors, the doctor decided it'd be best to put me on bed rest :( I want what is best for the baby, but its just a little overwhelming considering I have an active 2 year old, a busy husband and a huge to-do list to accomplish BEFORE baby gets here. I know this will all pass quickly and soon I'll be complaining about being sleep-deprived, but I just thought I'd give an update to friends and family :)
Here's another new interesting development. Lately Bronson has been very particular about the things I wear. He does not want to see me wearing anything that Daddy might wear. For example, sweatshirts and sweatpants are completely out of the question...He immediately tells me to take it off and will run into my room and find something much more appropriate! He is very into categorizing what girls do and what boys do. He came home from spending the morning at work with Daddy and when he saw me he burst out "mommy, you're so cute! you're a cute girl!!" Ahhhh, flattery will get you EVERYWHERE. What a smart boy he's turning out to be ;) Sorry, no pictures with this post. I will make up for it in the next one.
